Throughout Christian history, there have been eras of revival when the Holy Spirit powerfully manifests among God's people. One of the most impactful revivals occurred in 1904 in Wales. This program examines the Welsh Revival that year and how it transformed lives and society.
Using contemporary letters, interviews, and photographs, the documentary views the 1904 Welsh Revival through the perspective of the 26-year-old revivalist Evan Roberts himself. It traces Roberts’ spiritual journey from his conversion at 13 to the outbreak of revival in November 1904.
We follow his path from working in the coal mines and blacksmith's shop to attending grammar school in Newcastle Emlyn. The story culminates with the start of the revival at Roberts’ hometown church in Moriah Lougher.
Directed by Trev Burgess, the documentary stars Kevin Adams as Roberts to offer insight into the young preacher's mindset and motivation during this nation-changing revival.
Also featured is renowned Welsh tenor, pastor and revivalist Huw Priday, who lends his unique perspective on the 2004 revival and its legacy.
